Magellan Maestro 3210 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator

Magellan Maestro 3210 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator Review: I like this little thing. It has helped me get to a couple of places that were hard to find. However, I took me off the highway a couple of times only to put me back on the same highway just a few miles later. The map/software revision is almost two years old, so a new revision of the software and maps would probably fix that problem. It’s still a nice piece of equipment and is leaving with me on vacation today.

Magellan Maestro 3210 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator Review: Overall this GPS has been well worth the money. It’s interface is very intuitive and it re-routes almost immediately when I miss a turn. Occasionally it suggests a route that is longer than I would expect but it has always lead me to right location. The six million POIs have also come in handy as I always know where the nearest gas station/bank is. Highly recommended!

Magellan Maestro 3210 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator Description: The ultra-thin and stylish Magellan Maestro 3210 offers expanded maps, Points of Interest and exclusive AAA TourBook guide information so you can find virtually anywhere in seconds! The large 3.5″ touch screen shows your route and position on the map, plus distance to destination, arrival time, street names and more. Turn-by-turn voice guidance offers worry-free directions without even looking at the screen.

Magellan Maestro 3210 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator Review: I own a Garmin previously to this Magellan. But this Magellan is far superior to the Garmin. The graphics are very clear and the screen is bright, even in direct sunlight. I have used it on various trips and it took me directly to the address that I wanted. It is easy to use and very acurate. I specially like the detour feature. It help me to avoid a major road closure on my last trip. It guided me through a detour and got me back on the road promptly. The estimated time of arrival was almost within minutes of accuracy. As you increase your speed and avoid traffic it changes your time of arrival. I highly recommend this unit. It is a real value for the money.

Magellan Maestro 3210 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator Review: I purchaed the Magellan Maestro 3210 because of my experience with a previous Magellan unit - The RoadMate 1200. I loved my Roadmate 1200 because of it’s excellent navigation but was disappointed in it’s miniscule 750,000 item POI database. I saw the Maestro 3210 as the answer because of it’s 6 Million Points of Interest. Unfortunately, the 3210 obviously does not use the same navigation logic as the Roadmate 1200. The navigation performance of the 3210 is downright horrible.

Chosing “Fastest Time” would almost always select routes that actually took LONGER than the other options. During a recent trip to Ohio, the unit continually tried to route me off of the Interstate highway on to side roads that would have substantially lengthened my trip. The only reason I gave it a second star is because of the 6 Million POI. If Magellan could get the navigation logic of the Roadmate units into the Maestros, this thing would be a big winner. But for now, it’s worth more as a paper weight than a GPS.

Magellan Maestro 3210 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator Review: This simple but effective unit is well made and has proved itself invaluable on the two occasions when I was detoured through unknown parts of Detroit. So far, it has accurately guided us at all times. It is simple to use, quick to recalculate the route when a wrong turn is made and clear in it’s audible instructions. Very impressed with the quality and value.
