The new TomTom ONE XL.S has the same specification as the popular 4.3 inch wide screen TomTom ONE XL with the addition of text-to-speech technology allowing street names to be announced as part of turn-by-turn navigation directions. A large screen provides a larger, easier to see navigation interface for drivers. The navigator itself is slim and lightweight for easy transfer between cars. The Lithium-Ion battery will only last a couple of hours but, this shouldn’t be a problem as it is not intended as a portable device.

Very disappointed with POI’s on my Tom Tom One. We used integrated model on a BMW hire car in Germany 2 years ago (don’t know model and it gave out all sorts of information. It was like a personal tour guide. We hoped to be able to bring this on holidays and look up nearest hotel & restaurants etc. According to Tom Tom XL Europe our nearest hotel is 80 kms! Our nearest Police Station is 76kms!
