Mounting Options
Several mounting options are available from Garmin for the GPS-35. The most popular is the Magnetic Mount. This mount is offered as an option when you purchase the unit from Tigertronics. If you need a permanent mount and are willing to bend a little sheet metal and drill a few holes, it is also very easy to fabricate a mount yourself. Garmin offers
the following mounting kits:
* Magnetic Mount
* Easily positioned and removable for roof or trunk. Trunk Lip Mount
* Semi-permanent mounting on the trunk lip of most vehicles. Suction Cup Mount
* Easily installed on the inside of a vehicle window. Flange Mount
* For permanent mounting on vehicle’s roof or trunk
Configuring The TigerTrak:
To power the GPS-35 directly from the TigerTrak, you will need to install jumper JP-1 inside the TM-1. This jumper enables power to pin #9 of the Data/Control connector. We recommend using the TM-1+ with the GPS-35 because it has built-in solid state power switching for GPS power. So if you are using the TM-1+ , the power to your GPS-35 will be automatically turned ON and OFF by the power button on the front of the TigerTrak! If you are using the less expensive TM-1 model, power switching is not available and you will want to wire the TM-1 to a power source that is switched.
